ABOUT US

Releasing the true potential of wind power

Thanks to our innovative technology that enables lifting higher and heavier, wind power is heading for an even brighter future based on sustainable energy.

THE SKYREX STORY

Believing there’s a smarter way

Skyrex was born out of our conviction that there are smarter ways of doing things than those that we are accustomed to. Believing that the transition to renewable energy sources is urgently needed, we looked at wind power and found that its expansion was held back by awkward limitations in the lifting technology used to build the wind turbines.

We took it upon ourselves to rethink the construction method and developed an ingenious lifting concept that releases enormous potential for wind power. What is so groundbreaking with our patented and well-proven solution is that it can lift both higher and heavier in a much shorter time, while saving a sensational amount of resources in the process. The agility and flexibility of the concept revolutionizes not only the construction of wind turbines, but also their maintenance.

We are only beginning to experience the impact of our technology on the construction industry, but we are already seeing how it’s transforming the world of wind power. With the possibility of building much higher towers in less accessible locations, the harvesting of wind energy is quickly becoming much more cost-effective and even more sustainable. We welcome you to join us on the journey. We’re going above the clouds.

COMPANY HISTORY

A timeline of breakthroughs

Only a few years have passed since our vision was born, but we’ve come a long way. Our blueprint for a smarter construction method was soon transformed into a working prototype in the North of Sweden – the Salamander Quick Lift.

This in turn led to the first commercial installation in Denmark just recently. We are now eager to add new milestones and plan on delivering the first commercial Skyrex crane series in late 2023.

MEET OUR PARTNERS

A strong backbone of know-how

Our unique technological solution is not the only thing that makes us well-positioned for the future. We work in close collaboration with a group of industrial partners who are equally focused on delivering premium quality. Prominent among these are majority owner Stena with their vast industrial experience and part-owner Vestas, world leader in wind turbines.

PROMISING FUTURE

Turning into a driving force.

Continued growth is expected for wind power all over the world. This is because sustainable energy solutions are in high demand, and wind power can play an important part in the transition to fossil-free energy systems. Not only does wind power generate sustainable electricity at relatively low cost, it also creates jobs and economic growth. What is more, wind power is a domestic resource that powers the national economy and being easily integrated in rural and remote areas, it benefits local communities.

STRONG EXPANSION

Wind is gaining power

Wind power is proving itself as a reliable and potent source of renewable energy. In effect, wind turbines are being erected both on land and at sea all over the world, with countries such as Sweden, Germany, Turkey and Finland leading the way. No longer seen as merely a complementary source of energy, wind power is playing an increasingly important role in supplying the world with energy.

  • Wind turbines are getting bigger (and better)
  • The wind market is expected to double in size by 2030, reaching close to 180 GW in new installations
  • The top 10 wind power countries after China are USA, Germany, India, Brazil, Australia, Spain, South Africa, France, Canada and Sweden
  • Onshore wind is estimated to constitute more than 70% of total wind capacity in 2030
  • Global surge in onshore wind 2023-2025 is relatively broad-based with biggest increases in USA, Germany, South Africa, Turkey and Spain
INNOVATION IS KEY

The sky is
the limit

The output from wind turbines increases with tower height, since the blades can be made bigger and the wind is even stronger. Until now however, the height of the towers has been held back by limitations in the traditional design of cranes. Realizing that there are better way of doing things, Skyrex has changed the game with innovative lifting technology.
